Oct. 23rd, 2005 12:58 amGirls, I need a LOT of help ASAP!
I want to be the Snow Queen from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy-tale.
I've been dreaming of pulling this costume off ever since I was little, and now, at 22, I decided to go through with it. ALthough I have a general idea of what I want to accomplish that shouldn't be too difficult, I'd love to get some pointers and spectacular ideas from you girls, because I've seen you do some amazing stuff and there's no one else I'd rather ask.
Here's what I have so far:

That includes fake eyelashes that I will put white mascara on to make them look "frosted over," all sorts of white glitter and face shimmer, blue shimmer lipliner that I may end up using to cover my arms and d'ecollet'e with "frost" swirls, a white dress, white fishnet tights, white lace gloves, silver stilletos...and that's pretty much it.
I bought a white wig that was supposed to look like it does on my picture, but for some reason it has a giant bump on the back of the head that makes me look like an egghead. If they all look like that, I may end up keeping it and put the crown around it so it won't matter, but I'll figure it out tomorrow.
I want to get faux fur tomorrow to sew onto the edges of my dress and to wrap around my legs.
Here's what I would LOVE to look like in the end:

I am going to JoAnn's and Michael's tomorrow to get the supplies.
The collar. HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK? Maybe I should get ..some sort of stretchy lace and build the collar out of wire and stretch it over it? How would it stay? How can I attach a cape to it and make THAT work?
What should I make the crown out of? Any better ideas than what I drew in Paint?
Anything else? Snowflakes are a must for people to get it, maybe?
here are some more pictures to look at if you're not familiar with previous attempts:
