RIT what?

Hi I was digging through the memories, and have a quick question. I'm making a set of Fairy Wings tonight, but wanted to try dying instead of painting the nylon. I'm using panty hose ~ would RIT dye work? or kool-aid? If all else fails I can just paint them as normal, but I wanted to try something new.
