HELP PLEASE.....

I need some advice. I bought this beautiful fabric with a Japanese Fan print in hot pink and purple color. I was using it to make a messenger bag from a McCall's pattern and for some reason it didn't turn out quite right. I don't know what I did wrong with this pattern but I was so disappointed that I used the fabric on something that didn't turn out right. It's somewhat a disaster. I was thinking of ripping the seams and recycling the material to sew something else. Maybe another bag like the Jordy bag.

I used about 1 yard of fabric. Has this ever happen to anyone with a pattern? Any ideas of other things I can sew with this fabric?
