I'm being lame and giving my two sisters cash for Xmas this year. But I wanted to give it in a special way. I searched the web, but didn't find anything up my alley. I looked in my craft and gift notebook, but nothing looked right. I mentioned my dilema to my brilliant boyfriend who told me about this really neat trick you can do with fortune cookies. It's not really crafty per se, but it is just too cool of an idea not to post.
1. Microwave a fortune cookie for about 45 seconds with some water in a separate container.

2. Quickly and gently open the cookie as wide as you like.
3. Fold up a bill or a check so it roughly resembles the shape of the original fortune. I folded mine in half so the length was halved. Then I folded it in half lengthwise three more times. Rolling it might work, too.

4. Microwave the cookie and the water for another 45 seconds.
5. Quickly place the money inside the cookie and bend cookie back into original shape. Let cool.

I'm going to make or buy little take out boxes and put the cookies with money in them along with some uncontaminated cookies. I am also leaving the original fortunes in the money cookies along with the money.
