Desk ideas?

Hi, I have a large office type desk (faux wood top, metal everything else) that is very borirng and matches nothing else in my room. I like the woody bit but the gey metal is driving me insane. I am not allowed to paint it (that would be my first choice) but it needs something! I cannot think of anything to do to it, any ideas?
