Dec. 10th, 2005 08:33 pmHey you grrls (and you very few guys)
I have a public post on my journal about winter cards... I send you a nice little card, you send me a little card.
No two cards of mine are alike - I am using a vast amount of materials.. I am trying to explore all possibilities of card-making from a beginner scrapbooker/cardmaker point of view. Some of them are pop-ups, some are mini-activity type of things, some of them are just simple loving cards to wish you a sincere winter cheer!
I am going to post tutorials and pictures of most of the more advanced cards in January so that I don't ruin anyone's surprise! Visit my journal to sign up - all comments are screened!

This is my heatpack! I made it week and a half ago because my neck/right shoulder was super, super sore. It is the outter fabric and muslin.. and then inside is filled with both NON-instant rice and DRIED black beans... I pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes and voila, a lovely, amazing, heatpack. It works amazingly.. I really recommend everyone has at least once. They also make super cool gifts.. I am thinking of making one for a friend of mine to match a bag that she made for herself with some calico prints. (I bought some of the same fabric to patch my pants and bought extra b/c it was on sale) She is in love with lavender, so I will probably add some to the mix inside.
The next one I am going to make for me is going to have tea leaves and dried herbs/flowers in it for a lovely, lovely scent <3
Has anyone tried adding anything to theirs? Will tea leaves and dried flowers... do bad things when you repeatedly microwave them???
