Stockings

My fiance's mother (who lives with us) recently got her christmas stuff out of storage and we discovered the stockings that she had bought for everyone last year. I had already bought new ones for us and personalized them, so after personalizing a couple for her husband (they're seperated) and other son, I was left with a few extra stockings.

These are the cheap ones (not a bad thing, mind you) that have the velvet-like stocking and fuzzy white top. When I was trying to personalize his dads, I tried writing on the velvet stuff, then I took another one to see if I could do a decent job on the fuzzy stuff, but I ran out of glitter glue after "Da" (Dad). My fiance's mother picked up a set of glitter glue pens and I finished up the other one. I was left with two "Dad" stockings so I decided to make up another "Mom" and send them to my parents in their christmas package.

The new set of glitter glue was much more difficult to work with so "Mom" turned out kind of wonky. The trees are done in green gliter glue with silver garland and blue ornaments/lights. Since I'm in Phoenix I decided to draw a cactus (cacti?) on each one just for fun. I also made a bit of fun at myself since I decorated each cactus with lights/ornaments and my parents know how much I hate seeing real cacti decorated with lights and stuff. ;P

I also tried to do a few snowflakes, but the silver was being a pain to work with... so I just did two on each and they can decide whether or not they're stars or snowflakes.

Everything was made with glitter glue and I had a lot of fun doing it, even when I went to put them on top of the computer in the livingroom to dry (to keep the cats from mucking them up) and stuck my finger in the wet "mom" glitter. :P
