somewhat crafty question (cell phone charms)

we just got new phones for the family and i wanted to make some cell phone charms for myself & my mom. we have the nokia 6102, but it doesn't have a little loop for the charm to hang on (as seen in this photo).. if I attach the dangle onto the antenna, will it still hold on ok? what material would you recommend making the charm with (for the part that hangs on -- will embroidery thread be OK?)

i'm looking for the little bands that are like this:


so i can attach a dangle onto my antenna instead. anyone know where to buy these?
