altered doll art
Dec. 20th, 2005 12:04 am

I haven't posted here in a long long time! I used to post once in a rare while under my other username,

"Gina"
"An alter ego of sorts."
I altered a Barbie with paint, pastels, fabric, and other sorts of things and ended up with her. She sits on my shelf and guards my bed while I sleep.

"Anjelica"
"Crowned and smirking. She has her secrets."
I altered a Barbie clone with acrylic paint, wire, fabric, nails, and cording and mounted her inside a shadowbox I painted and finished myself.

"The Fool"
"The Fool, the first card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. Eyes closed, she is blissful in her naivety, empty and open to the worlds that lie before her."
This is my most recently finished piece. She is an altered plush doll mounted on a piece of wood recycled from old furniture. I painted it myself as well. I'm also working on a Hanged Man doll from an old Barbie doll.
Any comments are welcome. Thanks for looking!
