Well, well. So for the past week I've been working on this blanket that I was making for my boyfriend for christmas, and it's really the first thing I've sewn since probably seventh grade (being a college student now, it's been awhile)... and.. just wanted to show you how it came out since i am pretty damn proud of this.. it's completely hand sewn since i do not have a sewing machine, so... yeah.

well, his favourite animal is the white tiger, and i found this gorgeous fleece panel at Jo-Ann's (it was the last piece of it in the store!) so I got it and sewed it up to a black material that Jo-Ann likes to call "plush fur" which was quite a mess when i cut it to be the size i wanted to measure up to the panel... but anyway, so once it was hand-sewn to the material on the back i took some pictures (there wasn't much to take pictures of in the middle haha) so here's what i came up with:

it came out so much better than i had planned it...
to see how it contrasts to the backside, with the white and grey on the front, the black on the back was a nice additive:

So, now that I had my blanket all done, I had to think of a way to pack it so the packing looked nice as well, since.. hell, I spent time on this, all of it's gonna be lookin' nice.

So, I started folding it up and I thought of something that would be nice for him to put on his wall (his bed is next to the wall), so I printed out a picture of a tiger i had taken while in florida this past october and altered it by giving it a black outline and wrote sleep well on it, and wrote a little quote from (who else?) his favourite cartoon tiger, Hobbes:

how cute. so, after putting that in the middle and folding it up all nice, i got this nice cord (i was going to use it on the blanket, but lastminute didn't use it) and tied it up nicely:

And that, was the final product and i put it into a nice box and wrapped it with a nice little card about it and what not...

Oh, and when we got the panel (the panel was whole, and nothign was wrong with it, but on one of the sides (it had to have been the end of the line) there was a small thin continuation that was a little faded (the tiger stiped part, on the sides) and i cut that and made it more even and turned it into a nice little neck warmer/scarf thing for me:

The end. Happy Holidays, everyone. Be safe.

Enjoy!
