Paintilicious
Jan. 3rd, 2006 04:23 amI have a question about paint. I bought a crackle coat at Home Despot in the specialty house paint section. Worked just dandy on my desk. I just attempted putting good ole Apple Barrel brand craft paint over it, thinking it would crackle. No go. Anybody know why? I assumed it was a oil-based crackle coat vs. water-based top coat sort of action, but I'm no expert. Apparently not? Should I buy a tempra paint to go over it? What's gonna give me that crackle!?
Side note: I have a great amount of paint left over from the desk (interior house paint). I'll be saving it in some other containers. Any suggestions on what kind or where to get them? I need something larger than a traditional food jar (like for jams, etc), plus I'm concerned about those metal lids. Can I get empty plastic jars somewhere? I can't eat that much peanut butter!
Sorry this is text only! Maybe next year Santa will bring me a digital camera.
