finally, i have reason to make another post!

i bought this gorgeous fabric from the remnants bin for $2.00! there was a substantial amount, and i have quite a bit left over. as soon as i bought it i knew i wanted to make some sort of a batwing type top, but i've only ever sewed three things before, so without a pattern i was pretty worried and left it for a few months.

yesterday i finally got around to cutting the fabric, i took a teeshirt i already own to work out the basic height and width requirements, then i cut a weird superman logo type shape and made a V for the neck. i realise i made the neck a bit too wide, but i guess it can just hang off my shoulder in a fashionable sort of way!






this is the real colour of the fabric!



i used the wrong stitch by accident and don't really like how it looks, but i don't think anyone would notice from a reasonable distance.
