The next in my line of career squids:

Her name is Anna Squidlova and she's truly a prima ballerina!

The crown is crochet out of crochet cotton that has a metallic thread through it. It's hard to see, but there are seed beads crocheted into the arches of the crown. The crown is removeable as it ties in a bow in the back. Really really cute!

The toe shoes were crochet out of the same type of yarn as the rest of the squid, just pink instead of cream. The ribbons were woven onto the tentacles and then tied into bows. Alas, the toe shoes are permanent, I didn't want to mess with creating removeable ones (that would have been such a headache).

the tutu was sewn by hand and the ribbon roses were also attached by hand. It's removeable, so she can be dressed up in other outfits as seen fit.

So there you go my friends. Anna Squidlova! The bulk of her was crochet out of acrylic yarn. Her tentacles are poseable (I finally figured out the best way to do this) and she's really really adorable. I'm really happy about the progress my squid have been making. I can't wait to finish the next one!
