Badge a minit cut a circle things?

For those of you have the Badge-a-minit button maker, do you really need the circle cutters? Seems to me you can just cut the circles out yourself? I'm choosing between the 1 1/4" starter kit or system. The main difference between them is the circle cutter and the 100 button set. But i can just pay $20 and get 100 sets with my 59.95 kit instead of paying 99.95 and getting the circle cutter if it isnt needed. So yes....advice!! Thanks!
