thrifty crafty finds!

i went to a BIG and organized thrift store here today for the first time and got very lucky in the crafting section.





a big plastic bag of yarn for $1.98; and i love love love the olive green color in the small ball. for those that buy yarn, you know this is a good deal, since 1 skein of cheapo acrylic yarn can already cost $2-3. also for $0.99 i got a bag with embroidery thread and tassles; embroidery thread at my craft store goes on sale for $0.25 a color but not always, so this was a nice, cheap find.

so also a question - could anyone recommend some embroidery books for me? i think 'sublime stitching' has a book out & was wondering if anyone has a copy & what they think of it. i'd love to learn how to embroider! (and also cross-stitch!)
