sew cool!

i just inherited (she didn't die, she finally bought a new one!) my mum's OLD singer sewing machine, circa sometime 1970's.
it's bright orange and chocolate brown.
incredibly kitsch.

anyways...
i've sewn things before, but mostly being easy bags and skirts, pillow cases, toys for my baby, etc.

i like it, i'm relatively good at it, i just have one problem....

no cool ideas!
i've been googl-ing for about three days looking for cool things to sew.
really different, but yet, still beginner-ish things that are also relatively functional...
like maybe things to wear, or for my baby boy, etc etc.
you know the kind..
different, punk rock, retro, yadda yadda....

any sites any of you crafty PEOPLE (no sexist posting here) know of???
