Bags/Purses
May. 7th, 2006 02:24 pmMy first post! I'm a long time lurker, but I finally got my first real sewing machine (well, first sewing machine ever actually).
And I used a pattern for the first purse, the second one I used some tutorials off of craftster (like the zipper and inside pocket). Both of these were made with shower curtains and inexpensive fabric bought at wal-mart.
Onto the pictures (and they aren't great, but I'm proud of myself because they are my first EVER projects on a sewing machine):

I did the bottom part too narrow and the upper stitching to attach the top part is definitely off. I used the shower curtain material (thick fabric, not plastic of vinyl), iron in interfacing, and cotton fabric.

front panel with handles showing (made out of part of the shower curtain as well, that faux suedy feeling stuff)

Inside with the zipper pocket, ignore the stray strings that I hadn't gotten out of the inside from cutting off the excess.
