May. 31st, 2006 07:51 pmI'm in an organization called the Holistic Moms Network (www.holisticmoms.org) and my one of the events that my chapter(Charleston County, SC) does is have potluck theme dinners every month... Well, the previous few months, I've been too busy to get around to making anything cool to wear, but I felt especially motivated this month, so I made a shirt for the dinner this Saturday! Our theme (because we really are that cool, haha) is "Memoirs of a Holistic Geisha" haha...
I used a tutorial that I'm sure I found while clicking around from something on here...but here's a link to it: http://www.deborahmerlo.com/diy/archives/000095.html
I thought I'd share a few pics of the finished product:
Keep in mind, I have a 13 month old boy and a 5 month old puppy to keep after while I do my sewing, so there's no ironing/pinning/anything else that could be dangerous to them to be done. Plus, I didn't have the means before Saturday to go out and get the cool asian-inspired silky fabric that was used in the tutorial, so I used a some black fabric and a red table cloth that I had lying around...haha... So anyway...

(Apologies for that one super blurry picture, I wanted to show the sash/belt/tie thing...and that was the only photo of it. Also apologies for the messy bathroom counter with the baby crawling around on it, haha...that...well..that's normal around here.)
Thanks for looking!
