Jun. 20th, 2006 10:20 amI haven't been here in a year, geeez.
Anyways, I want to start making plastic necklaces. But, I can't find the right plastic or a good method of cutting them.
I've been using these acrylic sheets from my mom's office (she's an orthodontist and the sheets are what they make retainers and such out of) and a drill with an extremely small bit to cut the designs out of. It worked really well for the bigger things, but I want to do much more detailed designs. The acrylic is much too thick and it just doesn't work with the drill.
So, do you all have any suggestions on where I could find sheets of plastic or anything that I would be able to use? And how should I cut them? Thinner plastic & big scissors? Exacto knife?

I have plenty of my own designs, of course. I'd just like to be able to find something that I can create such clean lines with and do detailed designs.
By the way, I've already checked at Hobby Lobby and they had absolutely nothing. They told me to check Lowe's for sheets of thick plastic, but again, nothing. If I made my own molds, would resin work just as well?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Also, if this is the wrong place to ask this, please let me know and I'll post it somewhere else! :]
