Haven't made an update in AGES. Finally collected everything I've crafted in the past two years or so and took photos. I'm just missing a wreath that I couldn't photograph because my memory card was full.

Here's a small wooden jewellery box I decoupaged for my mom for last Mother's Day. I stained it gold over the decoupage and put a crackle medium over it. There are no pictures of the inside but it's painted a dark gold.

I'm in the process of decorating my room with a beach/pirate/ocean theme, and found this lovely votive candle holder...except that it was originally lime green. I distressed it to make it look old. First I painted it a dark blue, scribbled some wax on it with a white candle and then painted a light blue over it. I sandpapered off the wax and some of the paint, then scribbled on some more wax and painted it white. Sandpapered off the paint and wax and again and voila!

I may have posted this here before, but I made this card for my boyfriend this past Valentine's Day and I'm quite proud of it.

I have fibromyalgia and Lyme disease so I have a lot of muscle pain. I swear by hot packs and so I made myself a LARGE collection of hot packs of all different shapes and sizes. I bought a few funky fat quarters, sewed them up and filled them with rice, which, when you microwave it for a few seconds, retains heat very well and makes a very slightly moist heat. Marvelous for aches and pains for all varieties. I just bought some lavender which I'm going to put in my next batch. These are the only three I had immediately on hand, but I have a lot more in different colors. The two small ones are perfectly palm-sized. (I also made two palm-sized hot packs with velcro straps to hold them on for a good friend of mine who is a musician and sufferes from serious tendonitis.)

This isn't exactly crafty but I felt very creative putting it together. A good family friend of ours just graduated from highschool, so I put a gift together for her. Having just entered college I figured out what was invaluable, bought a few for her, and collected them in a pretty fabric trash bin -- also handy.

Packed inside (when I give it to her, I'll also add tissue paper and a ribbon) -

What's inside: 3 packs of Ramen noodles, 1 box of Hershey's Dutch Chocolate Hot Chocolate, 1 box Bigelow 6 Assorted Teas, 1 box ACTII Butter popcorn, 1 pack half-sized index cards, 1 roll Scotch Poster Tape, 1 pack 3M sticky Mini Hooks, 1 terra cotta light ring diffuser, 1 film-strip picture frame, and the latest issue of Vogue Knitting as well as a one year subscription to her school address. (Large gift, but it came from the whole family. Even so, except for the magazine subscription, I bought nothing over $3.50)

I finally bought myself the Druid Craft Tarot deck I've been wanting forever. I made a small velvet pouch for it. I'm going to sew ribbon at the opening to tie the top shut. I just need to buy nicer ribbon that what I've been able to find at home.

Sorry the pictures are pretty sucky.

Also, my cat is a pirate. He can't wait for the new movie to come out on Friday.
