Oh the Delights of Boring Summers

So I've been busy a crafting this summer. Today has been especially productive. I woke up with my boyfriend working on a model ship (ha! Even he's crafty!) and it simply inspired me to start crafting a bit myself. =)

This was my first endeavor of the day...okay, it's really just a picture, but it wasn't until I showed it to my boyfriend how art-like it really was. I'm going to crop it a bit so the edge of the wall isn't in the way, but I kind of like it. =)

At the end of the day I played around with my watercolors a bit. I'm no good at any real-life pictures, I'm much better with abstract. I played around with trying to do a Northern Lights kind of picture...obviously didn't do too well.

This was obviously my big project of the day, the whole story behind it can be found at my blog, but basically, I've been wanting to do something with all of my Jones Soda labels and the idea occured to me a year or so back that I could decoupage. This was perfect, especially since I'm moving into a brand new apartment in about a week, so now I have a piece of furniture! =)

This is how they started out. My own little bundle of handspun, hand dyed goodness. =)


And the wonky, uneven finished product. I love them =D They'll be awesomely warm come winter time.
