I received a custom order to embroider a design on 11 golf shirts and only have 17 days until they need to be to the customer. Eep!

I need to embroider the designs and then attach them to the shirts because if I wait until the shirts get here, there will be no time left. I think I'm going to use Steam-A-Seam 2 to do that but I need to know what type of fabric I should embroider the design on. I used muslin for the sample but feel like it looks too "bleh" for a finished product.

This was only the 2nd time I ever embroidered and I was probably insane for accepting this order. I'm on an extremely tight deadline, so any advice you can give would be wonderful.

Bad photos of the sample can be found here.

Thank you!

EDIT:

I found a lovely quilting store that, in my 16 years of living here, I had never seen or even heard of before I looked in the yellow pages (believe it or not). The woman there was extremely helpful and assured me that Steam-A-Seam 2 was exactly what I needed and luckily they had it in stock. For the fabric I'll be embroidering on, she gave me a very high quality 100% cotton muslin that is much nicer and more durable than the $1.27/yard muslin I used for the sample. I forgot how much spending the extra few bucks at a mom-and-pop store is worth. The thought of walking into JoAnn with the questions that I had on hand was not pleasant. Haha. Anyways, time to embroider!
