[identity profile] pumpsnail.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Back around Christmas time, somebody posted instructions on how to make ornaments out of cut out circles of paper. I made one out of a Gap gift card cardboard sleeve...thingy.

I also made another belt with my knitting Nellie/spool knitter/corker/whatever you wanna call it.

I don't know if I like how it came out. I think it should be thicker, so I'm currently knitting another cord the same length and then I'll sew them together.

And now, lamp "kits"+fabric+yarn for sale/trade!

(this part of this post was crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] ramshackle)
I bought some stuff to make desk lamps with a while ago, but I never followed through with it. I got lazy! Now you can have my half-finished lamps (call it a lampmaking 'kit', won'tcha?) for cheap $$$ or a trade.

This is the first lamp. I bought a bulb + switch + cord combo and stuffed it inside what used to be a (fairly ugly) candleholder with its guts removed. It looks a LOT nicer as a lamp base than a candleholder, I might say. The shade was bought separately from Michael's.

This is a closeup of the base.

I'll be honest with you guys. When I removed the guts of the candleholder I got a bit rough accidentally - you can see here with the lampshade removed (it just clips on and off with these metal thingys) that the top where the bulb sits is rather...raw. But you can't tell when the shade is on unless you were to look directly down the top of the shade.
The only thing wrong with this 'lamp' (besides the rough top) is that it doesn't stand up straight, due to the cord sticking out the bottom. I don't need another lamp in my room, otherwise I'd fix the thing myself, so it's yours for the low low price of $7 + shipping (this has got to be a great deal because the bulb and shade together cost at least $10), or best offer, or a trade. I'll even throw in the other candlestick, which hasn't been taken apart yet, and which matches the lamp base in shape but not in pattern.

This lamp was made from a....well, I don't know what it was. I assume it was either an old lamp or a candleholder. It's metal, by the way. As you can see, the cord just sticks out the side right now because I don't know what to do differently with it.

This is the shade. The only problem with this lamp is that I don't have a way of supporting the shade, which is why there are no pictures of this lamp completed. It's yours for $5 + shipping or best offer, or a trade.

Last but not least, I'm still trying to get rid of a skein of rainbow-colored yarn and some camouflage fabric! Any takers?
