I love moose.  No, I take that back, I am obessed with moose.  The people in my life gladly feed my addiction- not like I can't do it on my own, lol.  But I was at JoAnn fabrics a few months a go getting fabric for my draping class and I discovered moose fabric.  Not fabric with the occational moose, but I'm talking about nothing BUT moose.  It was hella expensive for me to buy ($9/yd is tough on a college budget!), so I bought 3/4 yard and its been sitting in my fabric tote for all this time.  But tonight I got the urge to sew.

I've never liked purses, but now I find I need something to carry my crap.  My mom got me a ceramic moose button and I went from there.  I would like to point out I have NEVER made a purse before, so don't mind me as I ramble on with delight. :-)

This is a close up of the fabric.  There was no WAY in hell I was going to pass this up. ;-)

This is the purse in full, its not very big-  5" by 5.5" with a 23" shoulder strap.

This is a shoddy close up of the bull moose button.  I used my seam ripper to open a hole in the clasp and hand-sewed around the edge to finish it.

I added a pocket in the inside.  The lining of the pocket, purse, and underside of the strap is the checkered print.  I had just enough left over for this project.

And with my cell, wallet, and my keys.  Its a perfect size!

Over all, I am pretty happy with this project.  It took me a couple of hours and I am proud of how well I did.  Now I have a one of a kind moose purse!
