sewing hem on scarf

I have a question about the hem on a scarf, im making a scarf, its not a knitted scarf but one sewed of fabric.

now the upper hem in the picture (its below the




should i fold it over, (fold the hem downwards) and sew it flat like that before i turn the scarf with the right side out?

or is it ok like this? im afraid if i dont sew it flat down it might create bulk in the scarf?
