reclaimed furniture
Aug. 14th, 2006 09:26 pmI've not posted in this forum for quite some time... been too busy trying to quit my job, move, and go back to graduate school. I'm all moved now, and I'm using the opportunity of having my apartment all a mess to repaint and update some hideous seventies green bedroom furniture I inherited from my grandmother. It's not all done, I still have the bed and large dresser to tackle, but the nightstand is finished.
Here is my nightstand, minus the drawer, that we took off first. Note the hideous shade of seventies green.

Here is what the stripper did to the paint. Since the bedset is over sixty years old, it didn't do an even job of taking off the old paint. There were at least four layers before we got down to bare wood.

This is the original hardware, on top of the next victim.

And here is the final result! Beautiful, no?

I'll post pictures of the rest of the set as they get finished!
