My batteries are dead...booo @ that.

But, I just wanted to let you all know I did something crafty this weekend. We went to Ikea in philly and they were having a kick ass summer clearance sale. We got 4 table clothes, fabric ones, beautiful light green with white flowers and pink with white flowers for $4!!!!!!!! Total. $1 each. And they were huge. Soooo, we decided to take one of the green ones and use the m to recover the dinningroom chairs. It was our first time doing it, but after many of times seeing it done on HGTV we figured it out and they look AWESOME! Sooo much better then before. I'm going ot use another table cloth for matching curtains and a table runner. I think I will do that today.

Question though...how wide should a table runner be? Should it be like 1/3 as wide as the table iteself? I have no idea. Also whats a good stitch for the edge that looks nice but will hold better then a straight stitch? I will be using the sewing machine and it has a bunch of different stitches on it and I have no clue whats appropriate for a table runner.

Also.....sorry for the questions.....but can this method work to stiffin fabric...spray adhesive? Like, spray it down and let it dry? In my head it will work, but theoretically...I have no idea. I have a full can with no use for it. I don't scrapbook anymore...though I should...and I need to make a couple totes but can't afford the extra fabric to put between the layers to make it thicker/sterdier. Thoughts?

And I will have photos asap of the chairs. I'm VERY proud of them.
