Goodwill, GOOD DEAL!!
Aug. 30th, 2006 10:50 pmI had WLS a few months ago... Not crafty, but I seem to hang out at Salvation Army and Goodwill a lot! Looking to rebuild my wardrobe for a good price. Well, long story short, I am compelled to bring home random craft supplies and homeless sewing machines!! LOOKIT WHAT I GOT TODAY!!!
Read it and weep!
Yeah, it says $9.99!
For the machine and cabinet!! I was downright GIDDY!! Nevermind, this is the 2nd machine I have brought home from the same damn Goodwill store! The other one was only 2 bucks, but is seized up, I have yet to work on it!
A close up. It is a Morse brand, Apollo 6500.

The really cool thing, it makes allllll these nifty ass stitches!!
A closer pic of some of the stitches. There is a flower design, a fish design, some ducks and some other cool things!!
I also got some nice yarn.
Lion Brand, Homespun, the original price sticker is still on the sleeve, it was 5 bucks, I snagged it for a whole 49 cents!
It was a good day at the Goodwill!
I must mention, my new machine, is stuck in reverse, but the damn thing sews beautifully! I think it should be an easy enough fix, not too worried. I am lucky my husband is so damn tolerant, as this is my 4th, yes, 4th machine. I have a Kenmore that he bought me, it sucks rocks! I seem to put it in the shop every year. I have my great-grandmothers Singer, it will outlive me but I really don't want to power sew on it as its sooooooo old and the wiring is iffy, at best. I know it is probably the best machine in my herd, but I love it for differnt reasons. Then there was the one that cost 2 bucks. It was a pig in a poke, I can't remember the brand, but it runs. It's filthy and needs some new o-rings and gaskets, but I think it was worth the 2 bucks, Hell, I can't even get a coffee for that amount! :) Now, I am the proud owner of this beauty! I can not wait to use some of those fancy stitches!!
EDIT: A good blast of Fabulos Blaster Penetrating spray unstuck the stuck reverse button!!! OMG!! I am good to go!
