Spray paint question
Sep. 4th, 2006 01:31 amSorry for the text only....I have a question for you lovely folks.
So, I just moved into a new apt, and there are these HIDEOUS end tables in the livingroom. I'm too poor to just randomly buy new ones...plus I love the shape of them....so rather than get rid of them, I was thinking of painting them.
Since most of the furniture in my apt is black wood, I thought I'd spray paint them black and then maybe laquer (sp?) them so they have a bit of a sheen. (I think if they were totally matte they'd look a little less "finished")
So my question - I've never bought spray paint in my life. Yes, I'm lame but I've never needed to. Is there a special kind of spray paint I should get to paint on wood? Can I just get any old can of black paint, or is there something I should be looking out for?
I just don't want to ruin the pieces. I'd just use regular paint, but I'd think that spray paint would go on smoother. Anyway, if you guys have any tips, please help me out!
