Card Making questions

craftgrrlI've made cards by hand for 2 years, and I want to try some different styles that I haven't done so here are the questions I've got.
Two questions:
1. Where do I find clear sheets of acetate for card making? I've found mylar, and vellum in craft stores but no acetate. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section? Or the wrong type of store?
2. I have an hp deskjet 5600 printer. Is there anything special I have to do to be able to print on cardstock? Settings to change, etc. I don't want to ruin my printer experimenting.
