I imagined and made a beaded candle holder a few months ago using many kinds of
beads and fine beading thread. The result was lovely and a good first attempt.
I hung the pretty thing from my window, turned off the lights and lit the tiny tea
light inside. The result was a kaleidescope of colour... and shortly thereafter a
snap and shower of beads. The heat from the candle destroys the thread which then
breaks. I have no idea what other material I could use to remake the candle-holder.
I need something thin enough to be threaded through needles -- to make the structure
of the holder work I must do some complicate stiches which require running up to 4
or more threads through some beaded areas -- any heat-proof materials I can think of
(wire, fishing line?) are too thick for this. Anyone have any suggestions out there?
