hi all, i'm looking for ideas of something small but still utilitarian to make to compliment my boyfriend's birthday gift. i've got the bigger part of the gift and then i'm going to make a medium sized paper mache ball and fill it with some candy and trinkets and a note but i was thinking adding something else, like a little cloth coin pouch, or a bottle opener? any ideas of something i could MAKE that he could USE? he loves beer and homebrewing, music, south america, rides a bike, likes to cook...

a makeshift rolling pin holder made from a bent up clothes hanger. not very pretty, but i was tired of it always being in the way.

another quick fix: i was having a party but lacked cute bowls for the nuts so i just painted acrylic and modpodged right on the canisters they came in. now, post party, i store small toys in them.

i made a bunch of these as small gifts for some friends. each side of the cube is a separate sheet of paper (origami or same-sized other kind), and each side folds out to open the little compartment inside, which holds a note or whatever you like. (i can go into more detail as to the procedure if people would like it)

thanks for any ideas about the gift!
