craft fair

i'm doing special orders at my first craft fair tomorrow and friday. i am really nervous because i don't really have much ready to sell, so instead i will just have people fill out a special order form and do that instead. have any of you ever tried this approach? i am really scared it will totally flop and i will be out $100. i'd appreciate any advice from you all who have participated in craft fairs before one what works, what i need, etc.
