Oct. 15th, 2006 08:06 pmI logged into etsy this afternoon and my earrings are featured on the homepage! (I think I previously posted a photo of them on another crafty binge!) It makes me happy and want to do cartwheels!
in other craftnews: I've discovered the Pollo Loco pattern to make chicken pin cusions that are quilted. I love them. I think everyone I know is going to get one for christmas!

So these chicken pin cusions are great. and they make me happy. They're made from two equal sized squares, i've been using orphan quilting blocks, but experimenting witth other materials, including suede and embroidery scraps.
viola!
a chicken. a patriotic chicken at that. These orphan blocks were originally made for a block swap for red and blue 6 inch log cabins, that i didn't get enough made in time. So i have a pile of them., and not enough to do anything substantial, and i've lost interest in making more of them! They're quilted with holographic thread and batting. The 'hair' and 'tail' are made from a silk/wool blend mori yarn. and the eyes are heat affix swarovski stones. They are stuffed with a mixture of batting and corn cob litter for birds to give them weight.
