Yay for autumn!
Oct. 20th, 2006 01:35 pmSo glad that the weather has finally cooled off a little so now I can wear this:

I just finished the shrug thingie not too long ago and love, love, love it. The colors were chosen for their almost vintage-esque look and it knitted up really quickly. Pattern was based on this, but with some serious modifications to gauge and tie and so forth. Sorry for the pics looking like they do, but it's tricky to get settled in for a self-portrait in the 10 seconds allotted by my camera's timer.
And, just for fun, a better shot of my hat than previously posted:
Well, I guess you can't tell anything about the hat from that shot, but it looks better on than in the other pics since I'm not just in a t-shirt & flannel pants.
And for my finale, the world's ugliest can cozy:
It's hideous and I adore it. Felted wool and slubby eyelash yarn, it dips ;lower in the front so as not to get yarn in the mouth when drinking. The seam in the back is on the diagonal and the bottom is considerably larger than the top so it has a more stable base. It really is quite functional, which is more than I expected from my first felting experiment.
