This year's theme was 'Dark Carnival'

Management's costume:
Wool tophat tricked out with large red, black, and white feathers. With red & black skull & crossbone and smaller 'eye' cameo pins on the side.

Plain grey dress pants, b/w docs, lady's black satin dress vest, ruffled shirt I made about a year ago

Borrowed bowtie from the boi, and monkey paw/ craw necklace from a while back. Little grey stretch gloves with the tips cut off and wooden thriftstore cane that got sanded and repainted in black and white stripes with some more enameld details, red ribbon woven onto the handle for a grip, and little sculpy skull, heart, and hypno bead attached to the end (since I like danglies).
To keep warm, took an old wool dress jacket destined for the thriftstore, replaced the huge faux brass buttons with little sculpy skull buttons

And loosley painted some wings on the back with white hobby paints with textile medium

And now for it all in action.................

And the back with the jacket on........

Now for the mentalist costume...........

Actual wrap turbin made of strips of navy and gold cotton from a previous year's costume, and some of the same fabric from the long jacket/ vest, sewn with french seams, main sides finished with black beaded serged hem. Ends finished off with gold hand tyed fringe.
Tubin pin is glass and sculpy, painted and drilled for wiring holes (it had eyeleashed I painstakingly epoxyed individually in with tweezers into premade little pinholes, but they all but snapped off by the time I was done putting the whole pin together) Black feather that I curled and trimmed for another project but never used, glued between 2 layers of felt onto which sequins and beads were attached. Standard bar pin back.

Worn with a black button down shirt, black bow tie, and brocade vest that was a prototype of a men's dress vest pattern I had drawn up. Over it all was a large kaftan I found made of a navy batik fabric with this spiffy eye design and gaudy applique on the tops shoulders with sequins already on it. Cut off the short sleeve arms down to the appliques, split the sides down and took them in, leaving knee high slits up the sides for walking, faced the armpit holes with leftover fabric from the sides, split the front down the center and finished it off of course, added in a few darts around the waist to make it more fitted while allowing for more room at the bottom. Finished off with gold tone chain and buttons at the collar.
Worn over black dress slacks (everything underneath had to be black since the kaftan being hand dyed would throw navy dye, even after hand washing with some vinegar)
In action......

The back....

Be astounded by his mystikal powers........

P.S. Sorry the action shots are rather dark, they were taken on our way out for an evening's worth of Halloween fun......
P.P.S. and the clothing is rather wrinkly, the outfit details being taken after an evening's worth of fun and frolick....

*smooch*
