question about spray painting

craftgrrlHi! I have a question. I did look at the memories... but... anyway.
I got this bedside table from IKEA yesterday. It is white, but not the right white... but I have a can of spray paint. I haven't assembled it yet, so could I just spray paint it, let it dry, then put it together? Do I need to sand it first? Seal it? Is there anything else to keep in mind?
