just one more...

an "in progress" shot of the tunic, halfway done.

the dress i made using a thrifted dress as a base, then altered it heavily.. it was plain white. i added a collar piece, and adjusted the shape/length. i added the circuitry details using reflective tape, which looks dark blue in regular light, but seems to glow under flash photography and bright lights. i traced all the reflective bits in glow-in-the dark paint as well, but my camera sucks too much to get a good pick of it in the dark. :/
the leggings i made from the body and sleeves of the turtleneck i used for the top of the dress, and attached knee pads that i had painted white.
the helmet was made in paper mache, craft foam, plaster and more reflective tape.
i anchored 2 glow bracelet "channels" to the sides of the helmet, so i could attach a blue glow bracelet to the front of it.. because i couldn't afford EL wire, and glow bracelets were on sale for .30 cents a piece and the color was perfect!! :)
my frisbee clips onto the back of my dress using a suspender clip and a loop of fabric, so i didn't have to hold it all night.
total cost. about $25 for both outfits. his only cost $2. (yay goodwill!)
i based the circuitry pattern on Yuri's outfit (one of the female programs), but i made a tunic instead because i didn't want to wear a leotard. :P i needed some coverage!!
the superman shirt i made out of a blue t-shirt, yellow felt, and red vinyl. :D
and my sewing machine has been broken, so all sewing had to be done by hand.
it looked great at night!! i'm happy because i always wanted to make this costume.
