Well, I thought I was going to post a brand-spankin' new idea for everyone, but it was briefly mentioned in this post a long while back. But!! I come bearing pictures!!

So its getting on close to the end of the year. You still have your calendar hanging on your bedroom/kitchen/office wall, and you really have no idea what you're going to do with it. You also hope to have lots of Thank You cards to write to all your Aunts, Uncles, 4th cousins, local Zookeepers, etc., after they've given you exactly what you always wanted for Christmas! (...right?? Although I'm still waiting for Bob to finally get the hint that Alice the Elephant would be MUCH happier at my house... but maybe your Zookeeper friends pay more attention to you...)

*cough* Elephants aside,

Turn those pretty calendar pages into stuffable, sealable, 100% mailable (and biodegradable!) ENVELOPES!! :D

1) Tear the pages out of your calendar!
2) Fold up a small strip across the top of the image (just under the nail-hole, if there is one)
3) Tape that flap down (If you want to, I didn't do it every time)
4) Fold from the left side, in, so that the numbered calendar squares are going to end up on the inside
5) Fold from the right side, inward, likewise
(Make sure that you are keeping whatever part of the image you want to show on the front, so that it shows. Your left and right sides don't have to meet perfectly in the middle - go crazy! @.@
6) Tape your left and right side edges together (overlapping them a bit helps, usually)
7) Tape closed the end that you didn't fold the thin flap down on. (This gives the open edge a nice clean-and-finished look!)
8) Affix a blank white or mailing label to the front of the calendarpagevelope, so that your local postal workers can read your to-and-frommyness without, you know, going POSTAL! @_o
9) Stuff that sucker with your love/hate letters, to-do/not-to-do lists, confetti, pictures of the Dalai Llama, whatever you crazy kids are mailing to each other these days!
10) Tape the open end shut! Stamp and SEND! :D

Wasn't that fun??!! I know I enjoyed it!!

No?

Hm.

Well then BEHOLD!!!! I bring you SHINY OBJECTS!!

And if you don't want my suggestion... you can just ignore the cut and look at my shiny objects collection...
