Jewelry Help
Nov. 7th, 2006 01:36 pmSo I make these little earrings:

They look weird because they're not for people. xD
Anyway, the hoop part is a loop of toe-ring sized memory wire, and to keep the chain from falling off there's a little end ball glued on each end. I recently just had someone tell me that one of their end-balls fell off. Now, I've had ones fall off before but they've been loosely glued in, and I made sure that there were pretty firm before I mailed them out. After I had them in well, they didn't fall out, maybe because I knew to handle them a little more delicately. Still, I can't sell these if they're going to be at risk for falling out all of the time, since the end-balls are so important to the functionality of the design.
I use Locite 409 Instant Adhesive as a glue. Should I use something stronger or a different method? I can't really use really advanced equipment because I do this in my dorm room and I work these on a small scale (the Swavorski crystals are 4mm.
Does anyone have any advice? :D
