For awhile now I've been kicking around the idea of crocheting some curtains. Namely because I don't want to buy curtains and I suck at sewing. I did decide to bite the bullet and sew curtains, but I can't find any material that I like for my room. Hence, I'm looking at making them via crochet.

Has anyone ever done this? If so, how did it turn out for you? I'm not going to be doing filet crochet, just simple sc,dc repeat pattern for the full length of the window. I'm hoping to do it with cotton yarn, but I don't think it comes in the colors I am looking for. I know Red Heart Super Saver has the colors I want, but now I'm looking at a weight situation. However, I should be ok if I get strong enough curtain rods. Or so my brain tells me.

Anyone have any tips/advice/warnings they feel like passing on? I'd really appreciate it!
