I'm a bit unhappy with it because it's made of acrylic felt, but there's no wool felt to be had where I live, and I was lazy and did not think to order any off the internet ahead of time. Anyway, I embroidered the tree with a running stitch and hot-glued it on (yay hot glue!), then embroidered the bottom, which, for freehand, turned out really well.

Each day of Advent one of the kids gets to put one bird on a branch, until Christmas Eve, when we will put a big star on the tiptop branch.

Because they're felt, they stay on naturally, no need for Velcro or anything ugly like that. Overall I think it turned out great!
