x-mas gift question.

So,  I have my winter break coming up from school and I plan on using it to do some crafty gift making for my best friend. I already Know what I'm going to be making her, I just have some questions

A couple of posts down someone posted these amazing painted on records. I stencil so I plan on doing her a couple for her new dorm room she'll be moving into soon. My question is, If I spray paint it first (sorta like the first layer), and then use acrylic paint over it, will it chip less? And then finally, she unfortunately lives on the other side of the country, so I'll be shipping the items, any one have some easy but cute ways of wrapping up whats going inside the bubble mailer? Any help would be great.

(sorry for all the questions and quite possibly hard to follow run on's. Finals are killing me =x)
