My mother got me a subscription to Martha Stewart. Not sure what that's all about.. but I did see there was a cute birdfeeder made of finials and wood. Unfortunately, all our wood goes into the wood stove..

the little thing on the bottom is somethin that fell off a Christmas decoration. the birds have already been for a visit since this photo was taken 10 minutes ago, so I'd say ITS A HIT. But I'm sure the squirrels will decimate it in short time, but that's okay too. x-posted to

my husband eats TONS of apples so I always buy a five pound bag. Somehow between his/my consumption and a pie or two there are always some left over. So I figure in the winter, the birds will get some. There are birdfeeders with peanut butter and suet around the back for protein in the winter months.
