flame-proofing paper?
Jan. 3rd, 2007 11:06 amI have what may be a stupid question.... is there any way to safely use paper on something that will be made to hold candles? I want to make a decorative candle dish type thingy like this one: http://www.pier1.com/Images/catalog/g61998_240_240.jpg
out of this old yucky plastic dish I have, and I've got this lovely saved wrapping paper I want to decoupage onto the plate. However, it seems like a slightly bad idea to use paper and glue to cover something that will have lit candles on it. Is this a bad idea, even though the flame of the candle will be pretty far from the dish? And, if it is a bad idea, is there any way to make it work? Something to flame-proof the paper with? A special adhesive? Anything?
