Bunny-Eared Baby Hat

So my cousin Polly is finally having a girl & I decided to use that momentous occasion to move from knitting solely scarves into the wide, wonderful world of baby hats. I got a great book (Itty Bitty Hats) for free from my work (a parenting magazine - we get lots of books for free), so I sat down with the book over Christmas break & here's what came out:



I plan to tie soft yellow ribbons around the base of the "ears," but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I realize now that I should have made the ears longer, but I am ok with it looking more like a bear hat rather than a bunny hat.

Not bad for a first attempt though!
