Knitting for Needies

So one of the girls in my knitting group (the best 5 girls you could ever imagine - thank you, Craigslist!) suggested that we get together this Sunday for a "Block Party" at her house. The project is to make 8 x 8 inch squares with our scraps, which we will then donate to Knitting for Needies. The basic premise is to knit 8 x 8 squares, mail them to this girl, & she will then knit them all together to donate to an orphanage. It's a lovely cause & a good way to use up all the scraps I'm never sure what do about. I was doubly excited when my (non-crafting) boyfriend asked that I teach him to knit so that he can make a square of his own to donate.

I will be sure to take pictures during the Block Party & of our finished products, but I thought some of you here might want to participate as well! The first batch of squares is due in to the organizer by January 31.
