I am very short on yarn -- a diagnosis of severe allergies has left me with no stock, I'm slowly buying a little here and there -- and haven't been able to knit in a long time, because my hands are bad. However, I found a ball of Patton's Classic Wool (Merino) in evergreen that I could use, and Calorimetry from Knitty. So, I made a not-a-hat for my daughter, who is always worried about her long hair. On 4.5mm needles, the piece ended up (as I thought it would) too large. This suited my plans perfectly, and I sewed on the buttons, sewed in the loose ends, and felted it carefully. The result is plush and bunny-soft.

A close up of the button and a good look at the yarn/pattern.

The whole thing, modelled by the kettle; shows off the texture well.

The piece laid flat on the railing; shows the texture.
