My Newest "Thang"
Jan. 22nd, 2007 09:52 pmI'm a sometimes seamstress, sometimes quilter...and I wanted a project to play around with my new sewing machine that I could finish relatively quickly and move onto the next. So I've jumped on the fabric postcard wagon!
I snapped pics just so the world can see.
I snapped pics of my postcards just so the world can see.
This is my First Attempt. It was made with fabric I just had on hand, some vintage some not, played around with some of the embroidery stitches on my machine and free motion quilted it with metallic thread. I used muslin on the back which I ended up not liking because you could see the embroidery through it.
So I was onto my Second Attempt with fabric I bought specifically for it. I included some lace w/bead and sequin trim (to the right), some eyelash yarn (to the left) and the lace frame overlay over the word. And here's the BACK which is difficult to see, but you get the jist of it.
I like my second much better, much more my style. All of these are made using thick interfacing, are very sturdy and yes, can be mailed. I'm excited to get the second one out to it's intended receiver :)
