craftgrrlEvelyn's Sewing Centre in Newmarket, Ontario is having another sewing machine sale! I just got my sewing machine and serger back from their tech shop (scheduled maintenance, and WOW, I didn't realize how much they needed it!), and saw the markdowns.
They've got a $10,000 embroidery machine marked down to $8,000, and some GOOD entry-level models at $399 (down from $699 -- this was the price range for my Janome when I bought it 7 or 8 years ago, and I got it in a sale like this, too). Then I saw the ad in the local paper, and realized just how many machines are on sale. Brand names include Husqvarna, Brother, Bernina, and Janome. Sale lasts through this week, I think. If you're in the market for a new machine, and you're in the Greater Toronto Area, you may want to take a look here. Even if you have to drive a couple of hours to get here.

sew_hip and advanced_sewing about people asking about different models. Just thought I'd mention it. Not sure if Evelyn's takes trade-ins anymore (she credited my account with $100 for my broken-down old Singer, including table), as the store has a new owner, but you might want to ask.
AND... there's *some* excellent quality quilting cotton marked down 40%. But you have to beat me to it.
